SHORT HOLIDAY POST : BALI (February 2013) - part 2

This year I’ve set my time for a short vacation with my boyfriend. We went to Bali. For Indonesian readers, Bali is sooo familiar. Actually, it was an anniversary gift from my boyfie to celebrate our 3rd anniversary.

[1st Day] : Arrived in Bali, we went straight to our first inn, Sari Bali Cottages at Poppies Lane, Kuta. Very nice cottage with a swimming pool located in front of our room, so we can swim all night long (for real). The first day we used to swim, dinner, sit and enjoy the wind in Kuta Beach, night walking, and enjoy the nightlife of Bali. Seriously, Bali nightlife is really really crowded. We’ve spent our 1st day in Kuta.

[2nd Day] : On the second day, we decided to move. We went to Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park and Padang-Padang Beach. Let me tell you about Padang-Padang Beach, very beautiful, little bit crowded but worth it. We swam until late afternoon before sunset. About our 2nd inn, Pink Coco Bali at Uluwatu, very romantic cottage near to Padang-Padang beach. I highly recommend this inn. And again, swimming pool in front of our room. You definitely know what we have done with the pool which is right in front of our room ;)

[3rd Day] : Our holiday has been filled by the beach and swim. On the 3rd day, we went to two beaches. Suluban Beach for the 1st beach, the scenery was 100% breathtaking. And Balangan Beach for the 2nd destination. I’ve been sunbathing there. Those two beaches that I’ve visited is a paradise for surfers. At night, we shopped around Kuta. I bought lots of ethnic necklaces for my girls at Sook (concept store in Bali). After that, we had enjoyed dinner at a Balinese restaurant.

[4th Day] : On the last day, we went to Seminyak for brunch. I really love this restaurant, love the interior and the foods. The resto named Crystal Palace. After brunch, it’s sunbathing time. I even had time to fall asleep. Four days in Bali isn’t enough. But I promised myself, there will be another long holiday in Bali. By the way, little bit disappointed with Bali. Bali can’t change the color of my skin becomes darker.

Have a great night,

Plaza Indonesia Bridal & Jewelry Show 2013 - SVARNA by IKAT Indonesia & SPOUS by Priyo Oktaviano (part 2)

* April 17th, 2013 at Lamoda Cafe

Svarna (pict. 1 - 3) which means gold in Sanskrit has presented a collection of bridal gowns with the concept of “Floral Paradiso”. The design concept has taken the idea of the beauty of flowers in Indonesia. Didiet (the designer) has been processing Palembang songket to be an applicable item for the bridal gowns. A touch of traditional fabrics combined with crystal and the beauty of the flowers (such as orchids) can be a wonderful collection.

SPOUS by Priyo Oktaviano (pict. 4 - 7) was inspired by the spirit of spring and blooming flowers into a beautiful garden as dream like jardin des Tuileries in Paris. Meticulous, sophisticated, poetic, romantic, and modern are the visions for Priyo Oktaviano couture. Donning a fresh take on the flower power theme, he imposed a well thought design with light modernity, asymmetric bouquet dresses, and 3D laser cut flowers. Yes, it’s 3D laser cut to show the modernity. The five beautiful gowns are La fraicheur de l’eau, Le predu levant, Lelysdans la vallee, L’ombre de l’eau, L’airde rien.

Explore your beauty,

Plaza Indonesia Bridal & Jewelry Show 2013 - SAPTO DJOJOKARTIKO BRIDAL & SEBASTIANSPOSA (part 1)

* April 17th, 2013 at Lamoda Cafe

My eyes love to see this fashion show because of the stunning bridal gowns. For the part 1, I have Sapto Djojokartiko Brida(pict. 1 - 3) and SebastianSposa by Sebastian Gunawan (pict. 4 - 7)

Sapto Djojokartiko has issued a dark romanticism side and touch of feminine into his collection. Sapto have used fine fabrics and combined with elegant embroidery and embellishment to reinforce the impression of glamour that are the hallmark of Sapto. For his signature style, it can be seen from the cheongsam collar design. He tried to capture emotion from an idea and tried to interpret his visions into volume and detail.

Sebastian Gunawan has released a collection entitled “Majestic Splendor” with bridal gowns that have a timeless design. The collection presents many layers and ruffles to give the impression of volume. Lots of strapless gown to show the profile of the neck and shoulders which is the appeal of a woman’s sexiness. Feminine touch has been presented with a large ribbon, floral decorations throughout the gown, and feather embroideries.

See you in part 2,

Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week (Day 6) ~ Sebastian Red (March 26th, 2013)

Lots of abstract prints. Actually it’s difficult to describe this collection because there are lots of details. But, let the pictures explain it to you. If you care about the details, this collection contains a lot of things about the details. You can see the details : at the bottom of the dress (pict no.8),  beaded detail at the chest, drapery technique (pict no.6), the accents on the shoulder, and layering technique (pict no.8 & 9). It’s all about detail.

Don’t forget the details ;)

Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week (Day 6) ~ Aigner (March 26th, 2013)

For the opening, I wanna scream “look at those pretty heels”. I love the color combination and the design (love the ankle strap on every shoes). About the clothes, consists of many colors (such as beige, bright yellow, red, and soft pink) and prints. There are also several materials such as lightweight and rigid material (which has been seen on pants, mini skirt, and top with collar in soft pink). About the accessories, there are lots of colorful handbags with different sizes. You can choose and mix and match this collection according to your taste from the top to the accessories.

Kiss,

Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week (Day 5) ~ IKAT Indonesia by Didiet Maulana (March 25th, 2013)

Festive. Why do I say so? Because, this fashion show really looks crowded. It can be seen from the visitors who nearly filled the seats, the collection consists of many bright colors and vibrant “ikat” print, as well as the closing part with a large balloon for the designer. Didiet always managed to make traditional motifs such as “ikat” looks more modern and not ancient. For this collection, there are lots of styles and designs with the main focus of “ikat”. There are sporty look with sweater and jacket, sexy look with high slit dress, and many other beautiful dresses. Bravo for Didiet.

Warm regards,

Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week (Day 5) ~ Iwan Tirta (March 25th, 2013)

The models look like a traditional princess when wearing this collection. Very graceful and elegant. The make-up and hairdo has perfected the whole look of the models. There are peplum dress, long dress, and lots of transparent accents. The beautiful motifs and the luxurious fabrics have made this collection looks “expensive”.

Viva glamorous,

Lekat SS2013 at Dia.Lo.Gue, Kemang (Apr 27th, 2013) ~ [part 2 - the fashion show]

An unique name, LekatLekat (Indonesian) in English means to stick close or tightly. The creative director, Amanda Indah Lestari wants Lekat to always be remembered, always to stick close to the customer. Amanda was inspired by the classic and chic style for the stylish woman in every activity.

For this season, inspired by Nia Dinata (Indonesian Movie Director) and Frida Kahlo (both of them have a strong feminist spirit), Lekat has shown ready to wear collection with simple style which can be combined with feminine and masculine style with tailored modern cutting. Materials they’ve used such as linen, tweed, and very ethnic Tenun Baduy (Indonesian woven fabric). They also play with the color tone such as maroon, terracotta, white, navy blue, aqua blue, orange, yellow, and navy green. This collection is special because of the colorful fabric of Tenun Baduy with unfinished technique. This collection is very wearable, so don’t hesitate to stay stylish in the middle of the dense activity.

Curious about “Lekat”? go check their twitterfacebookand tumblr.

black furry neck warmer ~ “Bitch Please” tee by Monstore ~ batik tutu skirt by DhieVine ~ black boots by Charles & Keith
Another pieces from DhieVine. This batik tutu skirt named Prambanan. Prambanan is the name of one of the temples in Indonesia. DhieVine is very creative in giving a name to their product, so Indonesia. The addition of the tutu in the batik skirt reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw who loves tutu skirt. I love this skirt. This is the modern way to love the culture of Indonesia. Curious about DhieVine? find them -> webstore, facebook, instagram (@dhievine), and scallope.com.
